Phillips Family and Friends

Thank you for another enjoyable Independence Day Celebration. We will not always celebrate on the 4th of July, but we will always celebrate our independence and those who sacrifice to preserve and defend it. Thank you all for coming. There were at least 103 attendees, but before you start counting, not all were captured in a photo, or not captured in a photo fit to be posted on the internet (a few photos of me are questionable). And of course some are camera shy (I may join that group); and some were just missed in the bustle of activity. But, you were a contribution to the fun, thanks for coming.

Thanks

A special thanks to the “Hooken Bulls” a band of local musicians/vocalists; John Cessac, Tom Williford, and Mike Murphy; with a long list of fine guest vocalists: Alisha Overland, Rebecca Parrish, Laura Edwards, Eva Wiggins, Angela Jones, Holly Phillips, and Buddy Wiggins.

I hate to get into thanking people in a public forum for the fear missing someone. So cut me a little slack. Thanks to Denny for providing and cooking the meat. Thanks to Doug for providing the tractor to help get the place ready and for providing the trailer for a stage. Thanks to Kip for the new horseshoe stakes. Thanks to Robert for helping install the screen wall. Thanks to Kim for the band shirts. Thanks to Pat and Dianne for providing the camper for additional guests. Thanks to Byron & Jeffrey for providing the speakers. Thanks to Adam and Angela for bringing the karaoke machine. Thanks to Scott and Greg for the fireworks show. Thanks to all who brought side dishes, sausage, snacks and especially desserts. Thanks for traveling so far to attend; we enjoy seeing you.

Apologies

There were three teams signed up to play in the domino tournament and the tournament was not announced. Taylor Phillips/Michael Campbell, RV Reed/Jean Reed, Jan Taylor/Margaret Phillips --you are all winners with our sincere apologies.

Acknowledgements

Note: I did not get a kick-back from the Woodville Emergency Room.

The two accidents we had were in a category that I consider to be unpreventable. I think that all were making adequate attempts to remain safe and I appreciate the effort. Please continue to teach and supervise your children. Everything is more fun when safety is your first priority.
